state of the union

Sure, fine, state of the union things are an in-the-new-year/looking-forward thing. Let's do it like it's not.

I'm not doing any amnesty fic dumps this year. Everything that would have been included is destined to be reworked for other pieces, so.

Total Fics Posted: 9, but two are still [redacted] for Yuletide

Total Words Posted: 17719

Total Words (of Anything Excluding Blogs) Written: Probably edging over 200k for the year. I blasted through a metric ton of the novel draft on my vacation(s) (oh god let me go back) (I want to go back so hard), but it was a really dry year fic-wise.

My favorite story this year: I think And The Cry Goes Out was my favorite. It's like picking my favorite pizza roll though. I didn't hate anything I posted this year!

My best story this year: Taste Them In My Teeth by a mile, but the story I wanted to write (and did not manage) for Yuletide would have topped it. Alas.

Story most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Don't think I had one this year!

Sexiest Story: Uh. And The Cry Goes Out is the first thing to spring to mind, which is gross on many many many levels.

Most fun story: I had a freaking BLAST with my second Yuletide story. It slid right out of my brain and into the keyboard.

"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story: Lol, Hannibal fics. Always Hannibal fics.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: I think I write more to solidify my perceptions of characters, but All I Want Is A Taste started in a place of absolutely not having any idea who William Darcy was.

Hardest story to write: Main Yuletide story. My god. None of what was in my head would come out.

Biggest surprise: How completely I have lost confidence in my writing. It was another crippling year, and I thought last year was the worst it could get.

A story I want remembered: I'd like to pick up the female!Bond thread from The Last Crown again, because I had such a clear vision of who she is and how the story changes around her with a gender- and racebent cast.

Resolutions for 2014: WRITE AND POST MORE.
