Well, I missed the

trope_bingo posting period again this year, so I'm trying to finish up a line for the amnesty period.

"I can wait for another table if you'd rather not share," he offered. Never mind that this one gave him a perfect view of the entrance of the building opposite. He could get around an obstructed view, of course. Especially now that he had the mobile fresh from Arthur Weasley's tinkering. Having to make awkward conversation with a stranger could make the whole affair monumentally more difficult.

"Oh, no, please! Sit, Harry."

"Thanks." He'd already plopped in the seat before the use of his name registered. It took a moment for him to flounder out a response. He hadn't been this sloppy in years. "Wait, erm, I mean, who?"

The menu dropped, revealing Luna Lovegood with a more pointed smile than she usually wore.

Once Upon A Time, by

thedevilchicken which is an ASOIAF (Sansa/Sandor) AU story mashed up with MY FAVORITE FAIRY TALE as well as some amazing mythology/folk tales that I am not going to tell you what they are so you can enjoy the unfolding. LOVE IT.

I don't have a spike (or a desk to put it on really) yet but I am racking up the original writing rejection slips, which is pretty exciting! An acceptance would be way more exciting but my original stuff just isn't there yet. It's a much harder set of muscles to flex than I thought.

Maybe derailed trains and bar brawls weren't the most glamourous of subjects to cover, but Joe Bradley was back in New York at last. Somebody up there was looking out for him. He had a steady gig at the Brooklyn Eagle, complete with a desk and a telephone and a press card to hang out of his coat pocket should the need ever arise. He typed up his little items of general interest and filched matches from the editor's desk, both of their feet kicked up as they lied to each other about all the generous and beautiful women they'd known.

Well, almost all of them.

Post-canon fix-it that I wish I could have made about 17000x longer. I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH THEY TOOK IT OFF NETFLIX AND I'M GUTTED EVEN THOUGH I OWN IT.

Goes AU during Lauren's bachelorette party in 1x21. It's John Cho's cheekbones' fault! I had a lot of fun writing this, even as I successfully fought the urge to put a bunch of Eli Manning jokes in (TOO SOON!!!).

Sure, fine, state of the union things are an in-the-new-year/looking-forward thing. Let's do it like it's not.

I'm not doing any amnesty fic dumps this year. Everything that would have been included is destined to be reworked for other pieces, so.

He bowed, his braid falling free to dangle over one shoulder. The girl's skin darkened with a fast-moving blush.

"Wait!" she cried, hurrying around the desk to pluck at the sleeve of his robes, and pressed something small and smooth into his open hand.

Reflex had his fingers grip it tightly before his brain had a chance to react. His breath caught in his throat; panic started to tighten his chest. He stepped away from her, quickly, already reeling. Her fingers were hot against his skin, almost scalding, as though she were burning inside.

"It's for luck, just, just keep it with you, please, Gatherer. Remember me."

Okay, I don't know how many that is. It isn't six! Lol counting.

Six for Sunday time! Except not, I'm super-blocked on the VEEP fic. Like, it's not really at a good point to stop and have it be an actual story and my brain thinks there's more possible, but my brain also thinks, nope, we're done, good night! Then refuses to work on anything but outlining the thing I'm going to be racing through on vacation, so that's excellent and awful.

So instead here's the first lines of all my in-progress/stalled stuff because that was a thing that I saw going around or possibly that I made up and we'll pretend any of these will be finished ever!

The thing is, no one is supposed to actually give a damn about what is or is not—or was, or was not—potentially ever happening inside Amy's uterus.
Sansa all but floated from the gallery, hope taking wing in her once more after being so long stifled.
The Wolfswood gave way abruptly to a cleared field less than a day's ride from Winterfell.
The water was warm, even after sitting overnight in the chilly seaside air, and sour.
In the grand scheme of things, following someone you hardly knew and could barely stand halfway across the state to take them up on a job offer was ... a pretty great idea?
It was supposed to be different in Honeyhall, and it was, until tonight.
The wood took the spark and ignited, curls of smoke winding up through the thick, humid air.
New York City was... It was dirty, was what it was.

In short, Amy swallowed her own sense of personal dignity—nothing new there—to take the heat for Selina, and that was fucking that. It should have been the smoothest thing she's managed to pull off since she wrangled Selina's way into the President's camp and onto the ticket, but nope. Nope. The gods reached down from on high and smacked her right in her stupid smug face one more time, just to show her they could.

Amy didn't just run screaming out of Bumpkinville yesterday. She's been around long enough to recognize that there's one thing that remains constant in Washington, no matter how many screaming matches erupt on the ever-growing horror show that is the American news media.

This is from the VEEP fic I need to finish before the new season starts and totally josses the plausible parts. But the end is NOT COOPERATING.

I need to a) finish this VEEP fic I've been working on forever >:( b) start my scifi big bang thing. I drove all the way to where my class was tonight (GOT THERE EARLY, EVEN) and then basically completely fell apart and didn't make it inside the building because: parking. PARKING. I didn't bring money to PAY FOR PARKING because I am the biggest moron in the world and then I panicked. As per usual.

And my interview was really enjoyable and fun but the impression I got at the end was they weren't interested in going further.

And I did something totally fucked up to one of my toes today. TRIPLE UGH.
